Church Club
Church Club is for children in school years 7 to 9 (aged 11 to 14) and takes place every Thursday in term-time from 7:45 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
We start each evening with either a Bible talk or a quiz based on the previous week's talk. Recently we have covered the life of Elijah, some of Jesus' parables, the life of Paul, and John's Gospel. We have also allowed
the young people to choose their own talks based on a suggested list or any other questions on Christianity that they would like us to answer.
Once the talk or the quiz is over, we break off for games or craft. The games vary - sometimes we will play a team game together in our sports hall, like kick cricket or football, and other times we will have a free evening where people can choose to play pool, table football, table tennis or board games. Craft activities vary widely but in the past have included card-making and cooking.
Occasionally we will have a special evening with party games, treasure hunts, bowling or outdoor games, as a special treat for those who come regularly. We also take the young people to a Christian camp in Surrey
during the May half term, which is always very popular.
The club ends with a tuck shop and a chance to chat, after which parents can pick their children up, or we give them a lift home.
The meeting is open to all children in the years listed above but please contact us before turning up as sometimes we have to restrict spaces due to high demand.
